Minutes of Mont Vernon Cemetery Trustees

A meeting of the cemetery trustees was held at the Ryder residence at 3:00 PM  on May 12, 2009. Present were Richard Quintal, Alton V. Ryder, and Karen Lindquist. Chair Quintal presented an agenda consisting of several items among them:

1. Tr. Quintal presented the state of Green Lawn cemetery re decorations, mowing, storm damage, stump removal, etc. A decision was made to post the current rules regarding decorations. Extensive use of plastic flowers, ceramic objects, rocks, plantings and other items not allowed by current rules should be removed. Trustees agreed to post a copy of the current rules at Gates 3 & 4 and in the vicinity of Sections A & B.

2. Tr. Quintal presented the board with a plaque recognizing Russell Stacy for his fine design, fabrication and installation of the wooden gates along Cemetery Road. All agreed to present the plaque to Mr. Stacy.

3. A broken stone has been reported in Section A. Tr. Quintal will contact Medlyn and inquire as to his schedule for gravestone repair. (AIQ).

4. Tr. Lindquist presented the financial condition of the bank account and present invoices. Some older items were not previously requested from the ToTF as well as several newer invoices. To bring books into balance, the trustees voted as follows:

a. Tr. Quintal moved to pay Mike Riccitelli the sum of $83.50 for Sept. 24, 2008 invoice. Tr. Ryder seconds. All in favor. Request to ToTF this amount.

b. Tr. Ryder moved to pay Broad Oak the sum of $6,270.00 for invoice dated April 2, 2009 for work performed at Green Lawn. Tr. Quintal seconds. All in favor. Request to ToTF this amount.

c. Tr. Lindquist moved to request the sum of $42.00 from ToTF for PO Box 343 yearly rent. Tr. Ryder seconds. All in favor. Request ToTF this amount.

5. According to Bucky Grugnale, the cemetery trustees should expect approximately $2,700 as FEMA payment for the ice storm damage.

6. As a reminder, trustees should plan for a joint meeting with Library trustees and selectmen to discuss the apportioning of the new cemetery.
