For funeral directors

Besides the usual Burial & Transit Permit and payment for the opening, we require a properly executed Interment Order. Amongst other things this Interment Order requires affirmation of the ownership of the lot. The funeral director should be familiar with recent changes in New Hampshire laws on this topic. You should also download a copy of our rules.

Checks should be payable to Green Lawn Cemetery.

The vault and other accoutrements are the responsibility of the funeral home. Vaults are required for full burials; grave boxes are not permitted. Containers are optional for cremains.

Our contractor will open and close the grave.

The cemetery closes about November first and reopens some time in April. We do not do winter burials. We have room in the tomb for two caskets on a first come, first served basis. Because we have no sexton or staff, the funeral home must supply the labor for transfers.

Monument installation must be coordinated with, and under the supervision of, the Cemetery Trustees and in compliance with the rules.
